ACHIEVEMENTS:

1)   UNIVERSITY RESULTS (2016-2019): The passed percentage of our 10th batches of BCA from the Department of Computer Science under Mizoram University was 85.71%, 4 out of our students could not make it in the first attempt; two of them cleared their back-back paper in the next University Examination. The summary of the Result are as below:

UNIVERSITY RESULTS (2020-2023 BATCH): The Vice-Chancellor, Mizoram University declared the result of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) - Odd Semester Examinations held during November - December, 2023 on 17th January 2024. Fortunately, our student, Lalbiakhluzuala Samte stood in the first position (University Topper) for the seventh time from our college. DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES: 

1) FIRST DEPARTMENTAL PARENTS-TEACHERS MEETING: The institution used to organise Parent-Teacher meeting in the previous years. For the very first time in our College, the Department of Computer Science organised “Departmental Parent-Teacher Meeting-2019” at Chanmari Campus on 6th September, 2019 (Friday) at 1:00 - 3:00 PM. In response to our humble invitation, 33 out of 35 Parents / Guardians (94%) could turn up and attended the function. Notably, some of the parents came from far distance like Aizawl, Lawngtlai, Hnahthial, Tlabung, etc. to attend and witness this meeting; this really indicates the success of the Programme. 

The parents were told the Department Report and other important information about the curriculum of the BCA Course such as Introducing New Syllabus from this year, Attendance System, Assessment & Evaluation System, Add-On Courses, Mentoring Session, Scripture & Human Values Education, Computer Hardware Course, etc. Parents Feedback Forms also distributed to all the parents and they are collected back after they filled the forms on the day itself. 

2) SPECIAL LECTURE / INVITED LECTURE: The Department organised Special Lectures session on 25th October, 2019 (Friday Afternoon) at HATIM Auditorium, Chanmari, Lunglei. The selected topics are “Classroom Dynamics” presented by Dr.Vanlalhlani Ralte (Associate Professor, Govt. J.B College) and “Cyber Crime and Security”  presented by Mr.F.Lalrinawma (Scientist D, NIELIT Centre, Lunglei). After every presentation, we had interactive session where questions being raised from the students. It was really fruitful and enhanced the knowledge of the students.

3) OBSERVATIONS OF VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK & FINANCIAL LITERACY CAMPAIGN: The Department of Computer Science host a programme “Vigilance Awareness Programme cum Financial Literacy Campaign” jointly organised by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) & Mizoram Rural Bank (MRB): Lunglei on 30/10/2019 (Wednesday). Mr. T. Munsong, District Development Manager (NABARD) Lunglei delivered a speech on the main purpose of Vigilance Awareness Week, that was to generate awareness in the public at large about the ill effects of corruption. He also mentioned the importance to curb corruption in our country. Mr. R.D Liana Khithie, Manager, MRB Lunglei also delivered a speech on different schemes and beneficiaries available from the Bank. He emphasized the necessity of secured financial transaction and protects ourselves from the hacker/attacker in the fast changing digital world.

4) HANDS ON TRAINING ON LMS-MOODLE:  The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of our College in collaboration with Department of Computer Science, organised Hands on training on Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle for all teaching staff from 7th – 9thSeptember, 2020. As Computer Science Department is the only technical-related department in the college, they took initiative for the success of this training programme. The resource persons are Mr. H.Lalruatkima, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Science and Mr. Vanlalnghaka Hnamte, Computer Lab. Assistant. The college have developed an online platform based on Moodle LMS which is the mode of Online Teaching for the Semester during Covid-19 pandemic. LMS Moodle was used as the main online teaching platform from 14th Sept, 2020 till date. It can also be integrated with Zoom Cloud Meeting, Google Classroom, Google Meet, YouTube, etc.

5) PARENTS-TEACHERS MEETING (Online): It was successfully organised by the Department of Computer Science, HATIM, on 1st September, 2021 (Wednesday) @ 7:30 PM via Google Meet. The programme was led by H. Lalruatkima, Asst. Prof, Deptt. of Computer Science. Welcome Address & Short Speech was delivered by V.Vuansanga, Principal, HATIM. Presentation on Department Report and Important Information for the Parents was given by K.Lalmuanpuia, Head, Department of Computer Science. Presentation/Speech regarding office and University information and fee structures were given by PC Lalbiakdika, Administrative Staff and Ramchanmawii, Office Finance Staff. 

     Question & Answer session was held in which parents gave feedback and ask questions. Some of the questions are like regarding the availability of Study materials in the College, Infrastructure of the College, Online & Offline mode of Teaching, Residential Fees, etc. Those queries were answered from the concern authority. Closing Prayer was done by H.Lalrinawma, Asst. Co-ordinator, IQAC

6) 3-DAYS WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL MARKETING: The Higher and Technical Institute, Mizoram (HATIM) in collaboration with MakeSkill, Delhi organised Three Days Workshop on Digital Marketing from 26th August, 2021 to 28th August, 2021. The hands on training program was successfully conducted by Makeskill, under the guidance of Mr.Tapan Kumar Jha, Google Certified Digital Marketer, Delhi. 

     From our College, BCA and B.Com students are participated along with the teachers. The entire training sessions were fruitful and wonderful; demonstrations from the expert team really help the participants to know about the importance and applicability of digital marketing in today’s fast changing world. They talk about requirement of Digital Marketing, how to get started with Digital Marketing, Digital Marketing Strategy, Domain name, Blogging, Email Marketing, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Zoho, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Optimization, how to manage twitter/ Instagram/ LinkedIn accounts, and many more. E-Certificate given to all the participants.

7) FACULTY EXCHANGED PROGRAMME WITH GOVT.SERCHHIP COLLEGE: Government Serchhip College and Higher and Technical Institute, Mizoram (HATIM) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purpose of Faculty exchange Programme. Following the agreement, teaching exchange between the two Computer Science (BCA) departments was organised from 23rd August, 2021 to 16th September, 2021. From our college, Mr.H.Lalrinawma, Mr.K.Lalmuanpuia, Mr.R.Vanlalawmpuia and Mr.H.Lalruatkima had taken classes on selected topics.

8) INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR: Mizoram IT Society (MITS) in collaboration with Higher and Technical Institute, Mizoram (HATIM) organised International Webinar on “What’s next after Graduation (IT/Computer Science/Engineering)?” on 13th November, 2021 @8:00 PM by Google Meet. The resource person was Vanlalpeka, TU Dortmund University, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He completed his MS (Information Systems Management) from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA and now studying MS (Data Science) from TU Dortmund University, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The Programme was led by Dr. C Lalnuntluanga, President, MITS. Mr.H.Lalrinawma, Asst. Professor, HATIM introduced the speaker/resource person and the webinar get started. The resource person talk about different opportunities for IT related students, and how to apply in reputed institutions. He also emphasized about Job prospect and their salary to encourage the participants. Question & Answer session was conducted by Mrs. Chawngsangpuii, Head of Department, Deptt. Of Information Technology, Mizoram University and after that she concluded the Meeting. 

9) PARENTS-TEACHERS MEETING: It was successfully organised by the Department of Computer Science, HATIM, on 30th January 2024 (Tuesday) @ 1:00 PM at HATIM Auditorium, Kawmzawl: Pukpui. The programme was led by H. Lalrinawma, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Computer Science. Welcome Address & Short Speech was delivered by Vuansanga Vanchhawng, Principal, HATIM. A presentation on Department Report and Important Information for the Parents was given by K.Lalmuanpuia, Head, Department of Computer Science.

     Each Mentor (faculty) met all their Mentee’s parents one-on-one where discussion took place regarding how best our students could make improvements in their academics and non-academics related things.  It was such a fruitful programme where parents/guardians and the teachers expressed their ideas for the holistic development of our students and the college. A vote of Thanks was delivered by Joseph Lalhunmawia, Asst. Professor, HATIM. The meeting ended with a prayer offered by H.Lalruatkima, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Science.

10) BASIC HARDWARE COURSE: Co-curricular activities are carried out apart from the normal class period, but they supplement the academic curriculum and help in learning by doing. The main objective is to impart practical knowledge and develop students' skills in diagnosis and troubleshooting of computer systems, as well as in the performance of computer operations. It is mainly designed for the student of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) since BCA curriculums do not cover Computer Hardware techniques. The students really enjoyed and enhanced their practical skills through this hardware class.

11) COURSE ON COMPUTER CONCEPT (CCC) STUDY CENTRE: The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, (NIELIT), recognized our college, HATIM as a Study Centre for Course on Computer Concept (CCC). The course is designed for non-BCA students from our college who are willing to learn and enhance their basic IT skills. Having a Certificate in computers has now become mandatory for the recruitment of ministerial and other jobs in the state government. The department takes initiatives as one of the Add-on courses for the college and teaches the enrolled students. After completing this course, students will be able to appear for an online examination conducted by NIELIT. It is a certificate course offered by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India (NIELIT).
